There’s Something Wrong with the Village

It is almost 4 weeks out since I had a total reverse shoulder replacement. My recovery is nothing short of a miracle. Not only have I had no pain, but the entire process has been surrounded by progress, support, and strength. This is my 3rd major joint reconstruction, and I can only explain it as “My body was made to be re-constructed!”

These 4 weeks of stepping back from ‘normal’ …resting in my loaned recliner chair from a friend “who’s been there…” have been pure gift.

In my physical period of recovery that has allowed for more than bones and muscles to get strong, I am being re-constructed from the inside out with something much deeper than my physical being. Surrounded by harsh truths, strong convictions, tenacious souls, and enduring wisdom (which is hard to shut out when you need to remain still,)  I have been buoyed by others’ experiences.

I am all about being part of the solution. (But) while I keep witnessing that “There’s something wrong with the village…”  I have been knocked upside my proverbial head with a much more encouraging truth.

I keep saying we need to be there for tomorrow’s youth… but the reality is that they are HERE for US now.

Many have been scarred that the village had it wrong. They have fortunately not been convinced that the village had it right! A generation of truth seekers has (fortunately for all of us) not been indoctrinated by a culture of power, fear, and judgment.

But perhaps most beautiful of all, before we damaged them beyond them becoming their truest selves… they’re stepping into the light of truth and may just pull others out of the destructive grasp of indoctrination.

Our role…? Those of us who keep asking “why?”… Could it be ‘simply’ to LISTEN? And to SUPPORT. And to LIFT UP.

Our youth… (and that is not an age) have a message worth supporting. I believe every village has room to be re-constructed.  We can be healed… if ‘we’ give the village what it needs.

  1. We are all connected. I pray that our own reconstruction/transformation process support others going through their process. We become stronger together.

    1. Thank you for your wise words… it truly is in our INTERdependance that the strength of all humanity will grow…
